Lindsey

     Lindsey Fox, a Carolinian and alumni of New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC is a trained ballet, tap and jazz dancer and is a licensed Zumba®, Zumba® Kids, and Balancepoint Barre instructor. Born in Charleston, SC, she began ballet, tap, and jazz lessons at the age of 3, steadily training for ten years. She spent much of her extracurricular time devoted to dance training, regional performances, and student instructing. She last trained at the former All That Jazz studio in Hampstead, NC. Lindsey is passionate about social dance serving as a healthy form of exercise for both the body and brain, providing a healthy form of self –expression for all ages. She is a proponent for dance as a force to foster harmonious communities, unite people across cultures, universally. She has organized and participated in countless social dance fundraisers and events in the region, with proceeds benefitting families impacted by both the shooting at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC and the families devastated by flooding in Southeastern, NC as a result of Hurricane Mathew. She is an active teaching artist at DREAMS Center for Arts Education, dedicated to building creative, committed citizens, one child at a time, by providing youth in need with high quality, free-of-charge classes in the literary, visual and performing arts. Lindsey served in the United States Air Force from 2002-2012 as a weather observer and forecaster; additionally as a physical training leader and self aid buddy care instructor. She deployed to Kirkuk AB, Iraq in 2011 in support of Operation New Dawn. She and her family returned to their native Wilmington, NC in 2012 for her husband Jim Fox III, owner/operator to renovate and reopen Low Tide Studio (est. 1987). She teaches Hip Hop every Thursday night at 6pm, come thru!
